En realidad el tema no es del sistema operativo en si. El tema es que estás 
usando el shell 'csh' y por ende deberías consultar la documentación del 
mismo (man csh). Sino, podes usar bash (con lo cual los problemas mencionados 
se solucionarían - quizá no el de las teclas, y tenga que ver con la terminal 
emulada).
