Ok, me respondieron:

We use licenced codecs from "Global IP Sound", which are vastly superior to 
the free ones.  Because of this, we will never be able to make all of the 
code open source.  

There has been some thought about making the rest of it open, but it is still 
under consideration.

Por lo menos lo tienen "en consideración" :\
